Karen Mason -- Irving Berlin

Ms. Mason originated the role of Tanya on Broadway in ABBA�s MAMMA MIA! for which she was awarded a 2002 Drama Desk Nomination. Karen is also known for playing the starring role of "Norma Desmond" in Sunset Boulevard, which she performed to critical acclaim and standing ovations on Broadway and in Los Angeles for three years. Other New York theatre credits include: Jerome Robbins' Broadway (playing Mazeppa and singing Mr. Monotony ), Play Me A Country Song, and Torch Song Trilogy on Broadway. And Off-Broadway in Carnival (1993 Drama Desk Award nominee for playing Rosalie ), And the World Goes Round (Outer Critics Circle Award) and Karen Mason Sings Broadway, Beatles and Brian.

In regional theatre, Karen starred in the world premiere of White Christmas , playing the Rosemary Clooney role (St. Louis Muni Opera); Side by Side by Sondheim (Coconut Grove Playhouse); Gypsy (Sundance Theatre); the world premiere musical One Tough Cookie , which she co-produced (Chicago's Apple Tree Theatre), Heartbeats by Amanda McBroom (Goodspeed Opera House) and Company (Boston's Huntington Theatre).

Her acclaimed concert series THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL , that includes the hit from MAMMA MIA ! (the Broadway smash in which she starred) has received raves at venues as diverse as NYC�s The Supper Club, Newark�s NJPAC, and Chicago�s Davenport�s. A 7-time MAC Award winner, Karen just won the 2004 MAC Award for Major Female Vocalist of the Year.

An acclaimed vocalist, Karen has headlined Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), The Russian Tea Room, The King Kong Room, Rainbow & Stars, the Algonquin, Arci�s, Eighty Eights and The Ballroom in New York, The Cinegrill and the UCLA/ASCAP Concert Series in Los Angeles, The Plush Room in San Francisco, and Davenport's in Chicago.

She has shared concert stages with Luciano Pavarotti, Rosemary Clooney, Liza Minnelli, Michael Feinstein, Jerry Herman, and John Kander & Fred Ebb, among others. She has given concerts in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Brazil, Scotland; with John McDaniel conducting the St. Louis Symphony; with the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra (as premier artist); and with Skitch Henderson & The New York Pops in NY & Japan.

Winning the 2002 MAC Award for Major Female Recording of the Year, When The Sun Comes Out, is one of 4 major recordings of her work: Christmas! Christmas! Christmas!, recorded live at the West Bank Caf� , Better Days ,including the 1998 Emmy Award-winning song "Hold Me", and Not So Simply Broadway (all on Zevely Records).

Karen's voice also graces the soundtrack of Jeffrey (Varese Sarabande), the studio cast recording of Wonderful Town (JAY Records), the original cast album of AndThe World Goes Round (RCA Victor), The Child In Me , Vol. 1 (Harbinger Records), and Lost in Boston ll (Varese Sarabande).
