Dear Friends,

I am very excited to tell you about our plans to make our 1999-2000 Millennium season really POP! With our wonderful, versatile orchestra, programs that are sure winners and great guest stars that will knock your socks off, we are sure you will want to renew as quickly as possible. Our phones have been ringing off the hook after our last Series starring Hal Linden. And if the advance sale on our April series starring the comedy mime team of Shields & Yarnell is any indication, next season will be THE hot ticket in town.

Once again, we are proud to present to you the highest quality and widest range of music and entertainment available anywhere. Music for everyone! We listen to what you want to hear and have a great time playing it for you! Here's a brief outline of this year's programs:

Blue Chip Broadway: Take "stock" of this dynamic Broadway line-up with great classics and current hits! "Invest" in these winners Concert versions of Jerome Kern's SHOWBOAT, George Gershwin's PORGY AND BESS and Leonard Bernstein's WEST SIDE STORY. Enjoy highlights of RAGTIME, LION KING and CABARET. Back by popular demand, Keith Buterbaugh and Jeanne Lehman. Last year it was magic time and it will be that again!

The Aristocrats of Swing: Join our salute to the DUKE, the COUNT, and THE FIRST LADY of Song as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of Duke Ellington, the 95th Anniversary of the birth of Count Basie and a special segment in honor of the late Ella Fitzgerald. Our special Guest Star is sensational vocalist and songwriter (the theme from "The Nanny) Ann Hampton Callaway, whose album, "To Ella with Love" is climbing the charts!

The Great Songs of Hollywood: A PHILLY POPS FIRST! We've played film scores and Award winning songs for you before, but this time a special Guest Star will sing Oscar winning and nominated songs from fabulous Hollywood films. The Academy of Music will feel like the silver screen with "Three Coins in the Fountain", "As Time Goes By", "Evergreen", "Beauty and the Beast" and more!

A Tale of Three Cities: Just sit back, relax, close your eyes and transport yourself to the great cities of Europe. We'll start with Vienna and listen to classic waltzes and romping polkas, then stroll to Paris for "Can Can" and other Parisian delights. From there, it's a short distance to London for favorites from Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, with competition winning singers from our "own backyard".

Because this is such a special year, we ask that you renew early to avoid the rush and secure your choice of seating location. There are many important reasons to renew now, including a subscriber-only special discount. Please see the enclosed form for more information.

I look thank you for your patronage and look forward, once again, to sharing this important season with you.

Sincerely yours,

Peter Nero
