LIGHTS OF LIBERTY ANNOUNCES 3rd ANNUAL TEEN IDOL AUDITION. WINNER TO SING WITH PETER NERO AND THE PHILLY POPS.

Lights of Liberty�s Teen Idol Search for the Greatest God Bless America is Philadelphia�s patriotic singing competition celebrating the July 4th holiday with events from June 30 � July 3. Singers 13�17 years old can apply now through the registration deadline of June 20. Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, June 23 (pre-registration is required). This outstanding event, now in its third year, gives talented young singers a chance to shine before Philadelphia music professionals and the general public. The winner will sing God Bless America with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at the Pops on Independence concert on July 3 at Independence Mall. Lights of Liberty�s Teen Idol draws hundreds of applicants from Philadelphia and the tri-state area. The judges include experts chosen by head judge Maestro Nero.

Twenty singers chosen at the audition will move on to the TEEN IDOL SEMI-FINALS on Saturday, June 30, from 3 � 5 pm, where they will compete to be one of the six finalists. There is an open REHEARSAL on Monday, July 2, from 5 � 6:30 pm, followed by the TEEN IDOL FINALS on Tuesday, July 3 from 11:30am � 12:15 pm. All Teen Idol events are free and open to the public in the PECO Energy Liberty Center, 6th and Chestnut Streets.
