Debbie Gravitte

Ms. Gravitte, currently appearing on Broadway in Chicago, made her Broadway debut in the original cast of They're Playing Our Song, and went on to appear in: Perfectly Frank (Drama Desk Nomination), Blues in the Night, A'int Broadway Grand, Zorba, (with Anthony Quinn), and Les Miserables. She received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her critically acclaimed performance in Jerome Robbin's Broadway. For her work, she has also received a Drama Desk Nomination as well as the New York Showstopper Award. Ms. Gravitte has appeared in the Encores Series productions of The Boys from Syracuse, Tenderloin, and Carnival at New York's City Center.

Ms. Gravitte has performed her nightclub act worldwide, from New York's Rainbow and Stars, to London's Pizza on the Park, and back home again to Atlantic City, where she's had the honor to perform with Jay Leno, Harry Anderson, and the legendary George Burns.

She has also sung with numerous orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra, London, Aalborg and Birmingham Symphony Orchestras, The St.Louis Symphony, Stockholm Philharmonic, the Gotesborg and Jerusalem Symphonies, Brazil Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, as well as the Munich Philharmonic in a televised tribute to Hal Prince.

On television, Ms. Gravitte co-starred on the CBS series Trial and Error, was seen on NBC'S Pursuit of Happiness, and has starred in several specials for PBS, including Live from the Kennedy Center, The Boston Pops Celebrate Bernstein, Rodgers and Hart for Great Performances, and Ira Gershwin's 100th Birthday Celebration from Carnegie Hall. She also took part in the gala celebration for Ira Gershwin at London's Royal Albert Hall. Ms. Gravitte can be heard on several recordings including her two solo CD'S: The MGM Album, and Part of your World, The Music of Alan Manken. Her other recordings include: Calamity Jane, Unsung Sondheim, Lucky Stiff, Miss Spectacular, Louisiana Purchase, A Broadway Christmas, as well as Mack and Mabel in Concert recorded live at the Drury Lane Theater.

Debbie recently debuted with the New York City Ballet singing in the premier of Peter Martin's Thou Swell at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Ms. Gravitte appeared with Bette Midler in the Universal Feature Isn't She Great?, and can be heard as one of the voices in Disney's The Little Mermaid. She is the proud mother of three beautiful children.
