Why does the audience always know when a character shouldn't open
that closet door or go down those stairs? Because of the music of
course! The screeching strings that made you never want to step
foot in a shower stall. Those two notes that had you terrified to
swim in the ocean. Join Peter and The POPS as they highlight the
music that puts the "horror" in horror-flick!

With the Voices of the POPS
Sing Hallelujah! Peter and The POPS celebrate the timeless
music of Harold Arlen - Over the Rainbow, Get Happy, Blues in
the Night - the list is endless. Join The POPS as they honor
one of America's greatest and most prolific songwriters on the centennial
of his birth. In addition to his collaborations with renowned composers
like Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer and Duke Ellington, Arlen wrote
dozens of film scores, composed a host of Broadway hits and had
a long-time association with Harlem's famous Cotton Club, where
he produced the classic Stormy Weather. This was definitely
a man who had "the world on a string!"
Broadway sensations Marin Mazzie
and Jason Danieley return by
popular demand!

March 2, 4, 5 & 6, 2005
Shoo-wop, shoo-wally-wally-yippety-boom-de-boom! Were you
one of those cool kids dancing on American Bandstand? Did you sing
on the street corner or in the hallways of your high school? Then
you helped give birth to a form of music that changed musical history
forever - Doo-wop! With its beautiful harmonies and heartfelt love
songs Doo-wop was the original rock'n roll music. Shamma-lama
ding-dong!
April 6, 8, 9 & 10, 2005
Long after the end of World War II, the music that floated through
our nation in the early 1940's is viewed by many as the country's
finest Pop moment. Wartime nostalgia - String of Pearls, Chattanooga
Choo Choo, As Time Goes By - and the glorious performers of
the USO who brought these wonderful songs to our servicemen - The
Andrew Sisters, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee-kept the hope alive
on both sides of the Atlantic. Thanks to Hollywood and Tin Pan Alley,
a seductive wartime dream world was created that grows more appealing
as time marches on.
