Marin Mazzie & Jason Danieley
Marin Mazzie recently returned from London's West End where she starred
as Lilli in KISS ME, KATE, receiving an
Olivier nomination. This follows her Broadway run for which she received
the Outer Critic's Circle Award, as well as a Tony and Drama Desk
Award nomination.
Ms. Mazzie received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic's Circle Award
nominations for her portrayal of Mother in the Broadway production
of RAGTIME, a role she created in the original workshop production
and world premier. Also on Broadway, she received a Tony nomination
for her portrayal of Clara in the Stephen Sondheim/James
Lapine musical PASSION and repeated her role for
the film version for PBS. Other Broadway credits include: INTO
THE WOODS, BIG RIVER and the City Center Encore production
of OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Off-Broadway, Ms. Mazzie played Helen/Dido in the En Garde
Arts production of THE TROJAN WOMEN: A LOVE STORY;
she also appeared Off-Broadway and on the national tour of Kander
and Ebb's THE WORLD GOES AROUND. Regional credits
include The Goodman Theater, Arena Stage, The Denver Center, The La
Jolla Playhouse and Pittsburgh CLO. For PBS television, Ms. Mazzie
has appeared in My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies and
My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs.
Ms. Mazzie has appeared in symphonic concerts throughout the country from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl, under the batons of Marvin Hamlisch, Keith Lockhart, Skitch Henderson, John Mauceri, Charles Prince, Doc Severinsen, Patrick Sommers and now again with Peter Nero. Ms. Mazzie was part of the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Angela Lansbury, and was honored to be a part of Stephen Sondheim's 70th birthday celebration at the Library of Congress.
Jason Danieley
Mr. Danieley made his Broadway debut in the 1997 revival of CANDIDE,
as the title character, directed by theatre legend Harold Prince.
For his performance he received a Theatre World Award, Drama League
Award and Drama Desk Nomination. Mr. Danieley played the role of Malcolm
in the Broadway production of THE FULL MONTY from
October 2000 to September 2002. He reprised the role at The Old Globe
production in London.
Mr. Danieley has also been seen numerous times in the City Center
Encores productions STRIKE UP THE BAND (Jim Townshend),
The First BROADWAY BASH and ALLEGRO.
Off-Broadway Theatre includes THE TROJAN WOMEN: A LOVE STORY
(Aeneas), DREAM TRUE (Peter) by
Ricky Ian Gordon and FLOYD COLLINS (Homer)
by Adam Guettel.
Mr. Danieley's National and International Tours include THE
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Raoul), HAIR
(Claude), THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT featured
with Melissa Manchester. His regional theater performances include
The Old Globe Theatre, Goodspeed Opera House, The Prince Music Theatre
(formerly AMTF), and Missouri Repertory. He was conducted by Leonard
Slatkin at Carnegie Hall in the role of Mr. Snow in CAROUSEL,
for the Richard Rogers Centennial Celebration.
Mr. Danieley has also sung under the baton of Skitch Henderson, Doc Severinson, Charles Prince and Keith Lockhart in numerous concerts with Symphonies including Minnesota, Santa Fe, the Boston Pops and The New York Pops.
Mr. Danieley and his wife Marin Mazzie recently created and performed,
to critical acclaim, an evening of duets for the AMERICAN
SONGBOOK SERIES at Lincoln Center.
