Auditions for The POPS Festival Chorus
Will be Held September 18th!

The Festival Chorus Performs with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops� in the Holiday POPS! Concert Series at Verizon Hall December 1st �7th

Jeff Kern, Chorus Director for Peter Nero and the Philly Pops�, will hold auditions for all singers who want to join The POPS Festival Chorus for the 2004 performances of Holiday POPS! This is the fourth year for both the Festival Chorus and the Holiday POPS! concerts, which have quickly become a Philadelphia holiday tradition. Always a sell-out, an additional show has been added to the series this year to meet the demand for tickets.

Rehearsals will begin in October and are scheduled for every Tuesday evening leading up to the concerts in December, from 7 to 10 pm at The University of the Arts. �We need at least 100 singers for the Chorus,� said Jeff Kern. � We would love to have 150 singers. That would give us a wonderfully big sound, perfect for holiday music. We selected 60 terrific singers from our first auditions in June, so I'm hopeful that we'll fill out the rest of the chorus from this audition. �

Auditions will take place at The Merriam Theatre, 250 South Broad Street in Room 506. They are by appointment only on Saturday, September 18th and will run from 9 am to Noon and 1-6 pm. Singers should prepare a 16-24 measure excerpt of a song in any style, and be prepared to sight-sing. All participants must be at least 16 years of age.
