AUDITIONS FOR PHILLY POPS FESTIVAL CHORUS FOR JOHN WILLIAMS CONCERT SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 � 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Philadelphia, PA (January 9, 2014) -- Auditions for the POPS Festival Chorus will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Room 506 of the Merriam Building, 250 South Broad Street. The POPS Festival Chorus is a volunteer 125-voice chorus that performs with the Philly POPS in Verizon Hall. The Chorus will be performing for The Magical Music of John Williams concert taking place on Friday, April 4, Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, 2014 under the direction of Michael Krajewski. Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m. and are held each Tuesday from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany located at 330 S 13th Street in Philadelphia.

Anyone wishing to audition should prepare 16 measures of a song in any style. Each singer should bring along sheet music for the accompanist. In addition, sight singing will be part of the audition. A basic level of music reading is required. Current members of the Philly Pops Festival Chorus need not audition.
