The Voices of The POPS
The Voices of The POPS is the featured vocal ensemble for Peter Nero and the Philly Pops. Since their debut in 2000, The Voices has become an integral part of The POPS, performing a wide range of music and concerts. This multi-talented group adds to the versatile orchestra by providing a new dimension to the already imaginative arrangements. The animated vocal element brings lyrics and melody to life against the rich tapestries of the orchestra's sound.
In 2000, Peter Nero conceived The Voices to perform in concert with as well as represent the organization at various appearances throughout the region. The group went on to perform to thunderous applause with The POPS at selected concert series that year. Great acclaim and growing opportunities brought The Voices back the following years, making them an essential member of the organization.
Consisting of professional performers and led by choral director Jeff Kern, The Voices strive for excellence in the performance of a broad repertoire. The ensemble consists of four sopranos, three mezzo-sopranos, three tenors and three baritones who possess an extensive array of theatrical, operatic and choral experience.
